We travelled to Anglesey in Wales for the 9th and 10th rounds of the 2013 championship.
Testing on Friday in Anglesey was tough on our cars with a number needing to get the spanners out before qualifying on Saturday. Mark Baker had engine trouble and had to replace his with a substitute for the club engine. This resulted in an almost a recreation of what happened to Dave Griffin in Mondello, the second engine packed in after a short session on track. Des Meehan had issues with his engine also but was able to get out on track for the weekend.
The BRSCC hosted us for 3 great races, with Alan Watkins winning confidently in all three. The first two races were championship rounds and the final race was a handicap race with a delayed start for each driver. The other drivers sharing the spoils were – 2 seconds for Alan Auerbach and 2 thirds for Andy Dalton in the championship rounds and a second for Dave Griffin and a third for Brian Kingston in the non-championship race.
The non championship race was good fun for drivers and spectators with the fastest driver having to drive through their individual delayed starts to get through the grid and to the chequered flag. It made for some great racing through the grid.
